Need some help please. 2009 Leon 1.4 TSI Sport, 44k miles. Bought last month, fairly decent condition, full Seat history etc. I've had issues with the coolant level, and the car's going back to the dealer on Tuesday to get that looked at and rectified (see here
I was looking for a 1.5 Ibiza FR before i bought my 1.4 leon FR I read a lot online about the 1.5 problems - kangarooing, stalling, loss of power pulling out of junctions, etc and numerous links went to the T-Roc forums showing numerous owners returning their cars for a refund and cancelling orders on new cars as there has been 2 software updates which haven't cured the problems and dealers
Because I'm looking at the 1.4 Ibiza FR to replace our 1.2 Sportrider some day and I've done a fair bit of research into the reliability of the engine in all it's forms (Ibiza, Polo, Leon, Golf, Passat etc) and haven't found any real issues. I understand the engine wasn't that reliable before it's ACT guise however and especially the twin

Posts. 10,597. Location. East Midlands. I have had my 17 plate 1.4 petrol Leon FR (150bhp) just over a week now and I'm very pleased with it I have to say. Very economical, pretty nippy and very well specced. Mine has the tech pack, convenience pack and 18 inch performance alloys, but only rear parking sensors.
The Leon FR 1.4 TSI with the £500 Tech Pack offers much better value on paper. I'm sceptical the stronger residuals of the Golf will cover the difference in purchase cost. Having said that if you can live with a lower spec the Audi A3 1.4 TFSI COD SE is the real smart buy. The problem is the 1.5 130 although on paper is 100cc and 5bhp more, You will get the new 1.5 TSI 130 engine, I bought a used 2019 Seat Leon ST FR EVO (130 The 1.4-litre 140bhp engine is punchy and refined. It's a lot smoother than a diesel and the economy penalty isn't huge for using the green pump. I get 44mpg and my commute is only 5 miles each
It hit 60mph from a standstill in 7.2sec, while the run from 30mph to 70mph was dispatched in 6.2sec. However, as effective as the 1.4-litre petrol engine might be in getting the Leon up to speed
