i figured that out lol but now im having a new problem :( since i got the game running on my monitor just fine then i plugged my pc into a 4K tv and since then the game would freeze up my computer and go straight to a black screen

Same here gtx 980 xtreme oc edition i7 6700k i noticed something though set frames to unlimited turn down the volumetric effects setting to low go to nvidia control panel to the mafia 3 independent settings turn off aa and the game looks and runs better i have everything else maxed btw also side note game is definitely not optimized well my i7 6700k sits at around 40-50 percent usage which is 4FzI.
